 Gala, Le Cirque, performed by Les Forains d’un Soir in aid of ESSOR, a charity for abandoned children, under a big top in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris. 11th act: Le Lion Rouge et Les Chimères, entertainment by Leonor Fini. The costumes of the lion, played by the Baron de Cabrol, and the three chimeras were donated and specially created by Jacques Griffe, after drawings by Leonor Fini.

World premiere at the Opera Society of Washington, Washington, D.C., 19 May. Set and costume designs were done by Leonor Fini, but owing to conflicts she withdrew from the production.
